Serevent is a drug manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline that has been prescribed as an asthma medication and for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

Shortly after the release of Serevent, reports that death and severe side effects associated with the drug began to surface. While neither the FDA nor GlaxoSmithKline is certain of the cause of these various side effects, all insist that the benefits of the drug outweigh its risks.

No label warnings of these side effects exist. Meanwhile, study shows that Serevent side effects can lead to the asthma-related deaths of more than three times the number of patients, compared to those who did not use the drug.
